Linder, a feminist artist who is known to pull out the provocative in fashion and film, and known for her works that are laced with sex and pornography, became the perfect co-conspirator for Gupta. Of her tongue-in-cheek process she shares, “I’ve always cut out images of men and women from pornography and fashion magazines with the same tender care as a heart surgeon. I then transplant these delicate cut-outs of beautifully idealised bodies onto pages from interior design magazines.” With this, Linder carefully makes the explicit implicit, skewing the context in which we view the human body—making the familiar unfamiliar.
