For the 2016 edition of Frieze Masters, Blum & Poe is pleased to present a rereading of the Cobra movement and works from the wide-ranging network of artists influenced by the group since the 1950s. The trope of "Human Animals" -- a concept that was formulated by the Cobra artists as a means to reinvent the aesthetic, psychic, and political representations of mankind after the traumas of WWII -- will act as the central organizing principle for this exhibition. Works in the presentation will include painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and ceramics sourced from the 1940s to the 1990s.
