October 5 – November 10, 2001
Santa Monica

Opening reception: Friday, October 5, 6-8pm

Jennifer Bornstein, Mark Grotjahn, Florian Maier-Aichen, and Dave Muller

Blum & Poe is pleased to present a show of new work by four gallery artists. Though representative examples of these artists' work, each of the pieces included is loosely connected by an exploration of landscape. Jennifer Bornstein, currently living and working in New York, will screen a new 16mm film. Mark Grotjahn will show a painting from a new body of work that continues his exploration of landscape, abstraction, and formalism. Florian Maier-Aichen exhibits a new large-scale photograph, an aerial view of Los Angeles at dusk, obscured by a mysteriously-shaped cloud. Dave Muller will install a fragment of Spatial, a much larger project most recently seen in Muller's solo show at the Saint Louis Art Museum, Missouri. Numerous watercolors, pinned to the wall, depict space and imagery associated with it, for instance Stonehenge, or the logo from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
